WORKSHOP: Managing Revenue to Maximize Profitability in the F&B Industry

Nowadays, the role of revenue management in the foodservice industry is becoming more and more important as it is the key to maximize profitability. Owners and managers of restaurants and catering establishments may try to comprehend it through articles, documents, and different materials but still find it difficult to apply revenue management in real world environment. Understanding these ongoing obstacles, Vietnam Gastronomy Tourism Development Program organized by Vietnam Hospitality Network (VHN) desires to assist Vietnam’s foodservice industry through this month workshop “Managing Revenue to Maximize Profitability in F&B Industry”.

On October 27th, the workshop organized by VHN at Én Tea House & Restaurant, 308C Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 4, District 3 with the attendance of Mr. Dao Quang Thuan – CEO at RevMax has attracted many participants who are managers and owners of F&B establishments in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was expected to start at 8.30 AM but the attendants arrived very early to meet & greet and get acquainted with each other.

Mr. Chu Hong Minh – CEO of VHN briefly introduced this event is one of the workshop series through Vietnam Food Tourism Development Program. This program aims to amplify Vietnamese foodservice industry and to leverage it to become “Kitchen of the world”.

Next, Mr. Thuan commenced an ice-breaking activity, introducing himself as well as the consultants among the attendants.

Throughout his presentation, Mr. Thuan went through some key factors that were affecting the industry revenue as well as analyzing the data and figures such as occupancy rate, net margin, RevPASH, etc. He then elaborated the importance of revenue management in the foodservice industry and made suggestions for improvements in this specific sector.

The final discussion section wrapped up the workshop . During this section, plenty of questions were asked not only for Mr. Thuan but also for the consultants and participants who are experts in the industry. After the workshop, many attendees stayed to build their rapport and exchange information.

The workshop Managing Revenue to Maximize Profitability in the F&B Industry is part of RAV Training Program which is implemented and operated by Hospitality & Tourism Solutions (HTS Group) in cooperation with VHN. RAV Training is an in-depth training program provides 1-year coaching for middle and upscale F&B establishments.
